Donors who give vehicles to Mel Trotter Ministries can still receive significant tax deductions. Vehicles are sold at auction or scrapped for parts and all proceeds go directly to Mel Trotter Ministries programs and services to help our guests move forward into sustainable income and housing.

Instructions for donating a vehicle:
• We accept all Auto's, Trucks, Van's, SUV's, Motorcyles, ATV's, Lawn mowers, Tractors
• We no longer accept: Boats, Campers, RV's, Jetski's
• Drop off vehicles during business hours, or arrange for a pick-up
• We must receive the signed title to the vehicle at the time of donation
• Vehicle sales price determines tax deduction
• All proceeds benefit Mel Trotter Ministries programs and services
What type of vehicles does Mel Trotter accept?
We accept cars, trucks, vans, SUVs and motorcycles, ATV’s, snowmobiles, and lawn tractors.
How/Where do I donate my vehicle?
Mel Trotter will pick the vehicle up at no expense to the donor.
What to bring when donating my vehicle:
We must receive the title and lein release information to the vehicle at the time of donation.
Do the vehicles have to be in running condition?
No. We accept non-running vehicles.
Who handles all the DMV processing?
Mel Trotter will handle all DMV processing and paperwork.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes, on a federal level. However, vehicle sales price determines tax deduction. We will provide the appropriate paperwork for filing.
Who/What receives aid from my donation?
Mel Trotter Auto Sales exists to create awareness of Mel Trotter Ministries throughout greater Grand Rapids. The Auto Sales department financially supports MTM programs through proceeds.
