Carol joined Mel Trotter Ministries in December 2014 as the Director of Human Resources (HR). Prior to MTM, Carol worked as the Director of Operations and HR for Diversified Medical Staffing, a medical and home care staffing agency. She also had a lengthy career at Porter Hills, a multi-site senior housing and service organization, as VP of HR and Talent Development and before that VP of HR and Quality Support Services. Carol’s 30+ years of experience in HR and operations have helped her grow an extensive portfolio of skills, which she now uses to lead MTM’s Operations Department. More specifically, she oversees purchasing, facilities and grounds, food service, human resources, compensation and benefits, and the volunteer program.
In addition to her professional role, Carol serves as a board member, Membership and Marketing Committee Chair, and past President of the Michigan Healthcare Human Resources Association, Board Chair for West Michigan TEAM, and on Cornerstone Church’s Staff Parish Relations Team. Carol has given numerous presentations to various groups and associations on effective HR practices, strategies, talent development, and metrics. In both 2016 and 2017, she helped MTM receive recognition as one of West Michigan’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For. MTM also received the 2016 National Best and Brightest Award.
