Welcome — we're so glad you're here!

If you discovered Mel Trotter Ministries through the Crain’s Giving Guide, thank you for taking the time to learn more about our mission. For 125 years, we’ve been sharing the compassion of Jesus Christ by helping men, women, and families experiencing homelessness find hope, healing, and a path forward. Explore how your partnership can change lives—one person, one story at a time.

What we do

Since 1900, Mel Trotter Ministries has served those experiencing hunger and homelessness in West Michigan. Today, we are the largest provider of services to people experiencing homelessness in the region.

We work to end homelessness one life at a time by offering prevention and diversion services, workforce development programs, and housing solutions. Leading with innovative, community-driven solutions, we are shaping a future where the question ‘What do I do if I’m homeless?’ always finds an answer rooted in care, dignity, and hope.

Mission:

Mel Trotter Ministries exists to demonstrate the compassion of Jesus Christ toward anyone experiencing hunger and homelessness.
