Pastoral Care at Heartside Ministry
A place to believe
We are a Christian organization that practices radical hospitality. This means that with an open heart and an open mind, we welcome and love each person just as they are and work to address their immediate physical, emotional, and social needs.
While we don’t force our faith on our neighbors, we work hard to love as Jesus loved and hope to be his hands and feet to everyone.
- Hosts worship each Sunday for about 100 regular attendees.
- More than 1,400 counseling (advocacy and pastoral care) sessions annually
We work to make sure that social and political decisions are not made for or about our neighbors, but rather with our neighbors at the table.
Many of our neighbors have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, addiction, and homelessness.
Sometimes just being there is the most important thing we can do. Compassionate, consistent relationships transform lives.
We all need relationships that are safe, accepting, and nonjudgmental. Because of trauma, abuse, and all kinds of addiction, many of our neighbors have lost significant relationships. Through supportive pastoral care and counseling, Heartside Ministry listens carefully to each person’s story, treating them with dignity, respect and patience. We hope that the relationship we build over time will empower and build confidence that will allow each person to heal and make decisions that will allow them to flourish.
