Grateful for YOU
This has been one incredible year as we have faced some overwhelming challenges together because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But this is the Christmas season, a time of hope and grace and thanksgiving. And this holiday, as we look back at 120 years of Mel Trotter Ministries, I am most grateful for you. Your support has carried us through one of our toughest seasons, and by the grace of God, we are still open and serving our neighbors.
Despite the struggles of 2020, more people than ever are still moving out of homelessness and forward in their faith journey. COVID-19 couldn’t stop that.
In uncertain times, we serve a certain God whose work will continue. When you can count on nothing else, you can count on God. We have seen that steadfast character of our heavenly Father throughout this year as He continues to work in our lives. The transformational work being done is still happening as God works through your prayers and extreme generosity during these challenging days.
Oddly enough, the stresses of the year have given us all a renewed sense of the dignity and value and worth of those we serve. You never know where encouragement will come from, and our staff has exhibited a renewed sense of our mission and belief that every single person is made in the image of God, by a God who loves them and has plans for them. They have inherent value and purpose. It is an idea that challenges us and is at the core of what we do . . . and it is truly what Christmas is all about.
