Homelessness shared through Mel Trotter's compelling ArtPrize piece
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) - Mel Trotter Ministries is excited to share the stories of those experiencing homelessness via a compelling ArtPrize exhibit. Artists who work and currently live at MTM have depicted what “More to My Story” means to them as a part of an ongoing campaign to change attitudes and perceptions about men, women and children who are experiencing homelessness.
The exhibit features a group of artists, including MTM staff and current guests. Each artist was provided with a blank canvas and the opportunity to produce a piece using various materials. The “More to My Story” exhibit is located in the park across the street from the Mel Trotter Ministries downtown Mission at 225 Commerce Avenue SW, Grand Rapids… just follow the Heartside yellow pantone pathway. Bring your family, friends, classmates or church group and experience homelessness from a new perspective.
You can also participate by taking a polaroid next to your favorite art piece, sign the photo and attach it to the fence near the exhibit to show your support of ending homelessness in our community (photos taken when volunteers are available).More details about the #MTMstory ArtPrize exhibit can be found at www.artprizeatmtm.com.
