Anthony’s Story
Because of fractured family relationships, Anthony was left living out of his car. While he was working a part-time job, his pay simply wasn’t enough to cover rent. What little income he had when toward keeping himself warm in his car.
Christmas was fast approaching, and Anthony was running out of options. He needed not just meals and a safe place to sleep, but heartwarming compassion. He was initially uncertain about staying at Mel Trotter Ministries. After his first meal, his whole demeanor shifted and he could not stop expressing how grateful he was for that meal. It gave him hope because that one meal showed him that he mattered.
In just his first few weeks with us, Anthony starting putting weight back on. Feeling healthy and revitalized, he began picking up more hours at work and even entered our Employment Track.
For Anthony, Christmas now looks much different than it did in the past. He recently celebrated moving into his own place close to family. He is most excited to use his space to help rebuild relationships and grow closer to God.
