It wasn’t easy for Kevin to ask for help – up until then, he worked his hardest to keep a roof overhead all on his own. Terrified of the possibility of losing his family’s home and desperate for assistance, he reached out to MTM for help. That’s where he met with the Prevention and Diversion team. With their help and the generosity of supporters like you, the team was able to find resources to help Kevin pay his rent, get food from local pantries and community clubs, and connect with a couple of partner churches.

MTM also provided financial support and case management assistance, which helped him and his family avoid homelessness. After two weeks of assistance, the case was resolved, and he called to let the team know that he was able to work with the resources provided. “I’m so grateful for your support. Thank you for caring for me and praying for me,” Kevin said through tears as he recalled the compassion and care he received.

The Prevention and Diversion team explained that they were the GPS, and Kevin was the driver. Together, they were able to successfully navigate his barriers and find a way to combat homelessness for him and his 3 kids.
