Mel Trotter Ministries will host a free, traditional Thanksgiving Community Meal for individuals and families experiencing homelessness as well as anyone in the greater Grand Rapids community who is looking for fellowship around a Thanksgiving table. The meal will be held at DeVos Place on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2021.

What time will the meal be served?
The meal will be served from 11:00am to 1:00pm.
Will there be a bus shuttle service?
Yes, the Grand Rapids Transportation Service will transport guest to the event. The Rapid is able to provide free transportation on the day of the event.
What time should I arrive if I am a volunteer?
Please arrive 30 mins before the time of your shift to check-in and receive instructions.
Where can I park?
Parking is available free of charge on Thanksgiving Day on the lower level at DeVos Place or at the Public Parking lots across the street at the front of the building. If you volunteer on Wednesday, we will provide parking validation passes.
Can I bring my relative or friend who is visiting for the holiday? Can I just show up?
We wish to discourage walk-ins at the event because of limited volunteer slots.
Can children volunteer?
Volunteers need to be 14 years of age and 18 years of age to volunteer in a lead role or kitchen.

What COVID-19 precautions are you taking?
- All volunteers will be required to sign a COVID-19 waiver, health screening day of and COVID testing the week of. (more details about testing to come)
- All volunteers are required to wear masks the entire volunteer shift. Masks are not required for guests. (current state guidelines as of 9.13.2021)
- Flexibility is key. Due to still being in a pandemic these changes are subject to change.
