Cameron’s Story
After losing his job and a place to live, Cameron came to Mel Trotter Ministries around Christmas, hungry and unsure where to turn. When he sat down to a comforting, home-cooked meal in the cafeteria, he felt relieved.
“The meals at Mel Trotter were a blessing,” Cameron said. “I was thankful to have a place to go during the holidays.”
Those simple meals became the first step toward a completely new life. As Cameron began attending chapel services, something stirred in his heart. One day after a message, he came forward for prayer and said, “That word was for me. God was talking to me. I know what I gotta do.” Shortly after, Cameron gave his life to Christ.
With the encouragement of staff, Cameron started writing letters to God in a prayer journal every morning. “God showed me something when I was writing Him a letter,” he said. “He made me write a plan!”
That plan came just when he needed it most. Cameron learned his benefits were going to be garnished because of old debts, and he felt like giving up. But through prayer, he found strength and direction. He applied for a job, trusting God to provide. “I felt like I was on fire for Jesus,” he said. “As I walked there, I felt like Jesus was melting the snow all around me so I could get there and I got the job!”
Today, Cameron is working, attending chapel regularly, and recently found housing on his own. All of these blessings began with one nourishing meal made possible by the generosity of donors like you.
