GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) —
An internet celebrity duo helped raise thousands of dollars for a local organization this week.
Josh Clarke and Jason Riley — more commonly known as Josh & Jase on TikTok, helped raise more than $40,000 dollars during their visit to Mel Trotter ministries.
When the two made a post about their visit, donations began pouring in, according to Mel Trotter.
“Within moments of the post going live, people began flooding our website to make donations,” the organization said in a release. “The surge in traffic was so significant that it temporarily crashed our website for a few minutes.”
Mel Trotter said that donations came from across the world, including the U.S., Germany, England and various parts of the United Kingdom.
